This year Mesa Land Trust will celebrate with COPMOBA at their annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day in conjunction with the first trail building day for the Three Sisters Park!

The first section of trail will be an extension of Kid’s Meal. It’s a perfect time to introduce your kid to mountain biking and trail building! Some folks will start construction in the morning while kids are enjoying the trail, then about noon everybody will start digging in the dirt!

After the work, at 3:00pm, COPMOBA will provide burgers, brats, and all the fixings for all those that participated in this fun event!

Join us to ride and build new trail!!

Please contact Libby at libby@mesalandtrust.org OR 623-1900 for more information. OR to register, go to COPMOBA’s registration page at http://www.copmoba.org/page.cfm?pageid=21658

The Mesa Land Trust purchased the Three Sisters property on June 5th, 2012 and deeded it over to the City of Grand Junction. The Three Sisters is now owned by the City of Grand Junction and is protected through a conservation easement that will preserve the Three Sisters in perpetuity, providing trails open to the public and protecting spectacular views.

Through the Alpine Bank Challenge, Mesa Land Trust raised the remaining funds needed to reach the targeted goal, $1.63 million. Thank you to all those who donated to this community project!

The Three Sisters Park Plan will be approved by the City of Grand Junction this fall. Due to unusually dry conditions, trail building has been postponed. COPMOBA hopes to build its first trail this fall, with others to follow the Spring of 2013.
